The world is changing, but perhaps it was never what we thought. GoldenMusings.com offers thoughtful insights into this world through the lenses of history, psychology, sociology, religion, biology, anthropology, and more.
I’m a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Cameroon and Ecuador), retired study abroad director, mother, thinker, author, publisher, and more. While I’ve spent the last six years learning about markets and the global economy, my career is global higher education. I have a BA in Communication and Culture and an MA in Counselor Education: Administration of College Student Affairs. I’ve lived and worked in Africa, South America, Europe, and the USA.
Through all the changes—and there have been many—my writing doesn’t change. It gives me equanimity, and helps me grow. I love learning and derive great satisfaction from sharing what I learn with others. This website is not monetized (for now); it’s just me doing what I do best. Intellectual and spiritual, I also try to spend every day seeking balance in various areas of body-mind-soul. My books include:
Study Abroad Map: The complete student guide to college beyond the USA (replaced Study Abroad 101 after three editions)
I also wrote several articles in The Chronicle of Higher Education, including: The Quest for Collaboration in Study Abroad (June 23, 2011), In Study Abroad, Simple Is Sophisticated (December 9, 2010), Study Abroad: Revenue Drain or Stream? (October 2, 2010), and 7 Signs of Successful Study-Abroad Programs (July 25, 2010).
Last but not least, I’ve published a handful of other authors under Agapy Publishing and Agapy LLC.
